The spam-tracking organization has just released the second beta of its Domain Reputation API, promising increased “actionable data.” The tool is designed to help email providers and security professionals identify potentially malicious email domains and IP addresses, and to prevent them from sending unwanted or harmful messages. The new version doubles the number of data points available per query, and offers more detail on the types of threats identified. In addition to identifying spam and phishing risks, the API can also help identify domains associated with malware distribution or spam botnets. Together with other Spamhaus tools, the Domain Reputation API provides valuable ammunition in the fight against email-based cyberattacks.
