Polish internet service provider Onet has taken a step in improving email security by implementing support for BIMI, a standard that verifies email senders’ identities through brand logos. BIMI, or Brand Indicators for Message Identification, builds trust between email senders and their recipients by displaying the sender’s logo in the email client’s inbox, reducing the chances of fraudulent emails. Onet joins a growing number of companies that have adopted BIMI support in recent years, including Gmail, Yahoo, and AOL. Email authentication standards like BIMI are essential tools in combating phishing attacks and other email fraud, which can result in data breaches and financial losses. As the importance of cybersecurity continues to rise, it’s imperative that more email providers follow Onet’s lead in implementing authentication standards like BIMI.
